Lumineers

San Mateo Dentist | Robert P. Choi, DDS

Y our dream smile without the pain! For patients who are concerned with removing or bleaching sensitive tooth structure, Lumineers are an excellent choice to restore chipped teeth, fill unwanted gaps and achieve the brightest teeth possible.

What Are Lumineers?

Dental implant img L umineers are a brand of porcelain veneers that are thinner than traditional veneers, and usually require little to no tooth reduction in order to be applied.

Traditional Veneers vs. Lumineers

Dental implant imgC ompared to veneers, Lumineers may require little to no tooth reduction making the procedure simpler and shorter than traditional veneers.

Because they are ultra-thin, in most cases you will get a perfect fit without shots or tooth preparation. Once the procedure is completed, there is no post-placement discomfort or sensitivity, which means Lumineers will look natural and feel comfortable from the moment they are placed.

What’s involved with a Lumineers procedure?

T he Lumineers process takes only 2 visits with Dr. Choi and the placement of Lumineers on the second visit takes, on average, only about one hour.
  1. On the first visit, Dr. Choi will create a mold of your mouth, and then help you select the right shade of white for your veneer to give you a natural look.
  2. After your first visit, Dr. Choi will send the mold off to Lumineers Smile Design Studio for your custom Lumineers to be created. Because there is little to no tooth structure removed with Lumineers, you don’t have to wear temporaries while you wait.
In most cases, your Lumineers are painlessly applied on your second visit without shots or drilling of sensitive tooth structure.
